Wayne R. Marhefka is a Senior Director for Business Development at Hughes Network Systems, LLC for the Defense & Intelligence Systems Division, responsible for the overall sales growth of the Division. He has extensive experience with both Domestic and International Business Development. Over his career he held various positions in Business Development, Program Management and technical positions and has over 30 years of experience in the defense marketplace. Prior to coming to Hughes, Mr. Marhefka was with DRS where he served as Director of Business Development in the C4 Line of Business where he strengthened the organization’s growth opportunities and built a strategic and tactical pipeline for long term growth.

From 2002 to 2010, Mr. Marhefka was at Thales Raytheon Systems (TRS), a Transatlantic Joint Venture focused on Battlefield Surveillance Radars and Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) Product Lines where his responsibilities focused on supporting TRS’ Global interest in the Washington, D.C. area. Prior to joining the TRS Joint Venture in 2001, he was at Raytheon’s Corporate Defense Headquarters in Arlington, Virginia as a Senior Manager on the Army Business Development Staff. He coordinated various Programs in Air Defense, Field Artillery and Tactical Communications as well as several other advanced technology programs.

Before moving to the Washington D.C. area in 1995, Mr. Marhefka held several Program Management and Technical positions at Hughes Aircraft Company’s Advanced Radar Organization in Fullerton, CA

Mr. Marhefka received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from California State University, Fullerton and a MBA degree from Pepperdine University in 1989. He has also received a Master of Science Degree from The Dwight D. Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy (The Eisenhower School) in June, 1999.
